The black chassis amplifiers seem to be more prevalent and I have not seen any other stainless steel ones on eBay. I do not know how long McIntosh made this version of the MC1000 but the stailess steel is kind of a throw back to their vintage tube amps which had chrome chassis. The amps are available at either the standard 110 Volt USA standard or I will have them changed to 220 Volts for other countries at my expense by an authorized McIntosh service center as McIntosh faxed them instructions on how to do the cahnge over at my request. They are in excellent sonic condition and as you can see in the pictures I have more than one pair but this listing is ONLY FOR TWO. Any burned out light bulbs in the front panel have been replaced by a highly qualified + technician and he also bench tested the amplifiers to specs and they passed with flying colors. I have more than one consecutive serial number pair. So if you are looking to Bi-Amp or Tri-Amp your speakers with these fantastic amplifiers I also have another two consecutive number pairs left. So there are enough of them to supply your need for Bi-Amping or Tri-Amping. The amplifiers sound fantastic to say the least. I also have one pair of McIntosh XR290's left that were part of the system. Please write me if you need more details. These amps came from the original owner who was using them to drive the XR290's.
