In my experience a crew of 4 is necessary to move this system. The following is an excerpt from a Euphonix CS Series blurb and is purely for informational purposes: Fifteen years after the inception of the first Euphonix digitally controlled analog console ‚ the CSII, introduced in 1991, the venerable CS Series consoles remains hugely popular for applications ranging from music mixing to broadcast and audio post production. The CS line, which grew from the original CSII to the CS2000, the CS2000B broadcast console, laid the foundation for the company's current range of all digital mixing systems and controllers. Renowned for their digital control features and high audio quality, the Euphonix website still averages over 2,000 downloads per month for the various CS Series operation manuals. The CS range was discontinued in 2004 after a successful 13-year production run, and Euphonix still provides limited support. The Euphonix CSII was the first model to ship and instantly became a hit with project music studios. As the first console to offer high quality large format console technology with up to 96 channels at a price point that was half that of traditional analog consoles of the day, the CSII offered SnapShot Recall of all parameters and extensive dynamic automation of faders, aux sends, switches and pans‚ at a time when competing high-end analog consoles only automated the faders and mutes and provided no instant recall capability. This CSII's instant recall capability enabled musicians to work on a song, save their settings, and move to another composition within seconds‚ enabling them to build complex monitor mixes over time while they tracked. By 1994, Euphonix had developed the CS2000, which included the innovative Digital Studio Controller (DSC) center section, and was the first console ever to include a TFT display with a set of assignable knobs. These assignable knobs mapped directly to the on-screen graphics for controlling console parameters and are the subject of a Euphonix Patent. The innovative use of interactive EQ and Dynamics graphs on the screen proved very popular and represented another industry first. The CS2000 also included optional dynamics plus the ability to expand the aux system with the CUBE signal routing control system. By this point, CS2000 systems were shipping to music, audio post, and broadcast clients. The Euphonix Total Automation System brought automation to all console controls, not just the faders While fully automated recall capability was certainly a distinguishing characteristic of the CS Series consoles, their warm, full-bodied analog sound also contributed to their popularity. To this day, there remain significant numbers of analog purists who simply prefer the sound of an analog mixing desk, and for these engineers, the CS Series‚ continues to be the digitally-controlled analog console of choice. The Euphonix CS Series of digitally controlled analog consoles have quietly become treasured classics by many top artists, producers, engineers and studios around the world. Numerous top music projects have been recorded and mixed with CS Series consoles and they all have that classic Euphonix analog sound.
